Komatsu and NTC

   Komatsu, who had nothing to do with NTC one year ago, became the biggest shareholder after having gained the shares of NTC’s former big shareholders-Toyobo and Marubeni last year, on the basis of so-called strategical cooperation and advantages compensation. One year later, Komatsu held 100% of NTC’s shares by openly buying stocks and becomes the parent firm of NTC.
     As a result, NTC retreated from the Tokyo Stock Exchange Group ( section 2 ) since August 1 , and renamed as Komatsu NTC kabuskiki kaisha from October 1.
The name of Nippei Toyama Corperation exists no more. YNC has become the subsidiary of Komatsu. It will be decided if to rename YNC or not by the Chairman Board later, which is a littile different from NTC itself, because YNC has some own rights more or less ). Reminding by the way, it should be called as Komatsu NTC Limited instead of NTC afterwards.
Since then,it’s necessary for us to know a few on Komatsu group.
     Its full name is Komatsu Ltd.,which is well-known as the mining-machines maker ,listed  No.2 in the world . Its annual sales performance is up to 2 trillion yen ( as much as 150 billion RMB ),including YNC’s sales achievement certainly, which equals to the annual GDP value of a middle-scale city in China .
    Talk of the famous enterprises in Japan , Panasonic, Hitachi, Honda etc. will be mentioned firstly. While you may not know Komatsu was listed at the first place among all the enterprises in Japan during the last two years (it is the most authoritative ranking by Japan Business news,according to the enterprise scale , profitability , security , and development ).But this year it has been down to the 24 th .
     How could Komatsu gain such a prosperity ? And how could Komatsu annex NTC ? (no discussion here). It seems accidentally,but necessarily indeed. I didn’t know much about Komatsu before, but after it annexed NTC, I began to learn about it.
     If we characterize the company , the typical feature of Komatsu is that it does not like a traditional Japan enterprise at all . The legend of his success comes from the corporate leadership and management. Five years ago,it even faced serious crisis of operation. But it has the magic developemt after the president- Mr. Itagaki Masahiro took charge of the company. Its management is based on the human-oriented administration with two magic weapons:One is the financial management ( final accounts ); the other is the inner audition . Both of them are according to the United States Standard,which is the most strict standard all over the world . Even in Japan, it is seldom to execute such strict managements.  
     There has already some influences on YNC for its strictness,carefullness and high-speed at the finance management, which surprised us deeply . As a fact, its inner audition policy was almost going to be operated in YNC.Now it was postponed, but it may be carried out in YNC sooner or later.
    We should be well prepared all the time and should know Komatsu much on its culture for the further development of YNC , I plan to translate《staff code of conduct 》and show it at Window of YNC within the next year.
